Acne-Prone & Congested Skin Care in Canberra

When breakouts knock your confidence, it's hard to feel like yourself. There is a calmer, clearer way forward.
Acne isn't "just a teenage thing", and it's never just skin deep. Maybe you're in your thirties and still dealing with breakouts along your jawline every month. Maybe you've spent a small fortune on products that promise clear skin, only for the congestion to come back. You might avoid photos, cancel plans on bad-skin days, or feel like everyone notices. We see you, and we understand how exhausting it can be.
At Skin Wellness Academy, we care for breakout-prone skin with a whole-person approach that aims to calm the look of congestion and support a healthy skin barrier, so you can stop chasing quick fixes and start seeing steady progress.
Common triggers
- Hormonal changes and stress.
- Skincare that's too harsh, too rich or not right for your skin.
- Picking or squeezing, which can spread inflammation and lead to marks.
- Diet, sleep and lifestyle factors.
- Some medications.
If your acne is severe, painful or cystic, or you're scarring, please see your GP or dermatologist. Effective medical treatments are available, and we're happy to work alongside them.
How we help
Your Skin Strategy Session looks at the whole picture: your skin, hormones, stress, lifestyle and the products you're using now. OBSERV 520x advanced skin imaging helps us look closely at congestion and inflammation.
Through our Skin Transformation System, we first Rebuild a calm, healthy barrier (because an irritated barrier often means more breakouts), then Regenerate with clarifying treatments, and Maintain clear skin with a home routine you'll actually stick to.

Frequently asked questions
We can help with the skin side: calming the look of congestion and supporting a healthy routine. Hormonal acne can have medical causes, so we'll suggest you see your GP if your breakouts come with irregular periods, excess hair growth or other symptoms.
Please don't stop anything prescribed by your doctor. Bring your products (or photos of them) to your Skin Strategy Session and we'll review your routine with you.
Extractions are performed carefully by your clinician as part of your treatment, and they'll explain what to expect for your skin. It's far kinder to your skin than picking at home.
Skin renews over weeks, not days. Most clients follow a course of treatments alongside home care, and we'll track your progress with skin imaging.
