Ageing Skin Treatment in Canberra

Your skin tells the story of your life. We're here to help it feel as vibrant as you do.
Maybe it started with a line you hadn't noticed before, or a jawline that feels a little softer in photos. Perhaps your skin simply doesn't bounce back the way it used to after a late night or a busy season. Ageing is a natural, beautiful part of life, but it's completely normal to want your skin to look as healthy, rested and confident as you feel inside.
At Skin Wellness Academy, we never treat ageing as something to fight. Instead, we work with your skin's natural rhythms, combining advanced clinical treatments with nourishing skincare and lifestyle guidance, so you can age on your own terms.
What happens as skin ages
Skin ageing is shaped by two things: what happens naturally inside the body over time (intrinsic ageing) and what your skin is exposed to every day (extrinsic ageing). Together, they gradually reduce collagen and elastin, slow cell turnover and affect how well your skin holds hydration.
When to see your GP or dermatologist
We're dermal clinicians, not doctors, so we don't diagnose or prescribe. See your GP or dermatologist if your skin is painful, changing quickly, bleeding, not healing, affecting your eyes, or if you're unsure what it is. We're happy to work alongside your doctor.
How we help
Every journey begins with a Skin Strategy Session. We take the time to understand your skin, your health and lifestyle, your goals and how much downtime suits your life, using OBSERV 520x advanced skin imaging to see what's happening beneath the surface.
From there, your plan follows our Skin Transformation System:
- Strategy: understanding your skin, history, lifestyle and goals.
- Rebuild: strengthening your skin barrier and healthy function, so your skin is ready for more advanced treatments.
- Regenerate: stimulating healthy cellular renewal and collagen with targeted treatments.
- Maintain: protecting your results so you can continue to age gracefully and confidently.
The strongest treatment isn't always the best treatment. The right one is the treatment your skin is ready for, which is why your plan is built around you.

Many collagen-supporting treatments work best as a course, and changes develop gradually over time. Your clinician will recommend a plan and timing for your skin and goals.
It depends on the treatment. RF skin tightening and laser toning have little to no downtime, while plasma resurfacing has more. We'll match your plan to your lifestyle.
Daily broad-spectrum SPF 50+, a home-care routine recommended for your skin, good sleep, hydration and avoiding smoking all help protect your skin. Your home-care plan is the heart of your results.

slower cell turnover can leave skin looking less luminous.
years of sun exposure often show up as pigmentation. See Sun Damage & Sunspots and Pigmentation.
The two types of ageing
influenced by genetics and the body's natural processes, including the breakdown of collagen and elastin, slower cell turnover and the loss of volume and fat, which can make skin look less plump and accentuate lines.
external factors such as sun exposure, pollution, smoking, stress and lifestyle choices can all speed up visible skin ageing. The good news is that many of these factors are within your influence, and small, consistent changes add up.
