Cosmetic Tattoo in Canberra: Brows, Lips & Eyeliner

Sep Ashkani | Cosmetic Tattoo Artist | Lashkani
Cosmetic tattoo with Sep Ashkani
Imagine waking up with brows that frame your face, or lips with a soft wash of colour, before you've even reached for your makeup bag. Cosmetic tattoo can save time each morning and help you feel more put-together, whatever your day holds.
Skin Wellness Academy welcomes Sep Ashkani of Lashkani, a cosmetic tattoo artist with over 11 years of experience, to our Canberra clinic two days each month. Sep has been visiting Skin Wellness Academy for over a year.

Brows
- Hair stroke (nano) brows: fine, hair-like strokes created with a digital machine and a fine single needle, for a natural, fuller-looking brow.
- Ombre / powder brows: a soft, shaded, powdered finish.
- Combination brows: hair strokes with soft shading.

Lips and eyes
- Lip blush and lip liner: soft colour and definition for the lips.
- Eyelash enhancement: subtle definition along the lash line.
- Decorative eyeliner.
Colour boost
Cosmetic tattoo gradually fades. A colour boost refreshes the colour, shape and definition of your existing cosmetic tattoo, and is recommended every 12 to 18 months.
What to expect
- Consultation and design: your consultation is usually part of your first appointment. Sep takes time to choose a colour to suit your hair and skin and to draw in the shape, and won't begin until you're happy with both. Allow about 2 to 2.5 hours.
- Two sessions: all cosmetic tattoo treatments need two sessions so enough pigment is held in the skin. Sep will let you know when to book your second appointment (the top-up). Occasionally a third visit is needed.
- Healing: allow about a week. Keep the area dry for 5 to 7 days and follow Sep's aftercare (see our Cosmetic Tattoo pre & post care guide).
- How long it lasts: cosmetic tattoo gradually fades. It can take one to five years to fully fade, depending on your skin, lifestyle and sun exposure, and a colour boost is recommended every 12 to 18 months. Think of it as low-maintenance, not no-maintenance.
Before you book
Cosmetic tattoo isn't suitable during pregnancy. Please tell us about any medications, any illness in the last 6 months, and any acne medications or creams used in the last 6 months.
There's no minimum age for cosmetic tattoo, but clients under 18 need parental consent.
Caring for your cosmetic tattoo with other skin treatments
Sun, salt water, chlorine, glycolic acid and peels can fade or change the colour of cosmetic tattoo. If you're having IPL or laser at Skin Wellness Academy, always tell your clinician about your cosmetic tattoo, because laser can darken some cosmetic tattoo pigments.
Cosmetic tattoo removal
Sep doesn't perform tattoo removal. At Skin Wellness Academy, removals are performed by Kim using our Alma Harmony XL Pro Q-switched laser. Want to fade or remove an older cosmetic or body tattoo? Our Laser Tattoo Removal starts with a patch test, because cosmetic tattoo pigments can react differently to laser. See also Unwanted Tattoos.
How Sep's visits work
Sep visits Skin Wellness Academy two days each month and has been visiting for over a year. Appointments are limited, so we recommend booking ahead. All bookings are made through our Phorest booking page.
