Medi Facial Pre & Post Care
Our Synergie Medi Facial and O Cosmedics Medi Facial are clinical facials with little or no downtime. Here is how to prepare and how to care for your skin afterwards.
Before your treatment
- For about 3 to 5 days beforehand, unless your Dermal Clinician advises otherwise, avoid retinol and prescription vitamin A, exfoliating acids, scrubs and home peels.
- Keep your skin hydrated and use SPF every day.
- Let your clinician know about cold sores, recent procedures, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding, or medication changes.
On the day
- Your clinician assesses your skin and selects the right pathway or protocol for you on the day. The facial finishes with corrective actives and time to relax.
- Downtime is none to minimal, so you can usually return to your day.
After your treatment: the first 24–48 hours
- Your skin may look slightly pink for a few hours. This usually settles the same day.
- For 24 hours, avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga, vigorous exercise and heavy sweating.
- Keep your skin hydrated with the products your clinician recommends, and wear SPF 50+.
- If you need makeup, mineral makeup is best for the rest of the day.
The following days and weeks
- Avoid retinol, AHA and BHA acids, scrubs and home peels for about 3 days, or longer if your clinician advises. Restart them once your skin feels completely comfortable.

When to contact us
- Please contact us if you notice ongoing redness, stinging, a rash or anything that concerns you.
- If you have severe symptoms, such as difficulty breathing, rapidly spreading swelling or a high temperature, call 000 or go to your nearest emergency department.
